Antique Early Victorian Sterling Silver Snuff Box 1840

Description

This is a superb antique Victorian hallmarked sterling silver snuff box measuring 2 3/4" (7 cms) x 1 3/4" (4 cms).

Inside is in very good clean condition and still retains the original gilding.

Outside is also in great condition with beautiful engraving and the lid bears the inscription 'from W.M. to J.M.)'.

It weighs 67 grams which gives you an idea of the quality and is hallmarked for Birmingham 1844 with the silversmiths mark for Edward Smith.
