George III Silver Gilt Vinaigrette, John Shaw

Description

A delightful George III silver vinaigrette by John Shaw.

The cushion shaped vinaigrette with delightful decoration to the cover and vacant cartouche opens to reveal a silver gilt interior with beautifully decorated grille. Hallmarked fully for Birmingham 1811 with makers mark for George Shaw.

Condition: the grille hinge/pin is detached and therefore when opening the grille, this is now removable. Otherwise, this lovely object is in stunning condition, the decoration not worn, the gilding bright, hallmarks clear. There is no sign that the grille is detached when inspecting it, even on close inspection; this is only apparent when one opens it. Priced accordingly for this issue, but does not detract from this super quality vinaigrette.
