Antique Victorian Sterling Silver 'Bird' Trinket Box - Goldsmiths 1895

Description

This is a superb antique Victorian hallmarked sterling silver table or trinket box with lovely bird decoration.

It measures 4" (10 cms) x 1 3/4" (4.5 cms) x 1 1/4" (3 cms) high and is hallmarked for London 1895 with the silversmiths mark for William Gibson & John Langman of the Goldsmiths & Silversmitsh Co - it's also marked underneath 'Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company, 112, Regent St'.

The silver is in great condition, inside still retains the original gilding and it's nice and clean and ready for use.

The box weighs 78.5 grams and is absolutely super with a cartouche on the lid with no inscriptions or monograms.
