Fine 19th Century German, Sterling Silver Box.

Description

Fine mid 19th century Sterling silver box with beautiful chased scenes to all sides and the top. The box is rectangular in form with a good strong hinge and is gilded inside. The box is by B. NERESHEIMER & SOHNE of HANAU. The box is also hallmarked for CHESTER 1898 with the initials for BERTHOLD MULLER who is listed as an importer of German silver to the UK in the last quarter of the 19th century.

The box is beautiful and is in pretty good condition, there is slight wear from cleaning but nothing serious at all.

SIZE; 4 1/4" long by 2" wide by 1" high

CIRCA; Probably around 1860 but with the British hallmark for CHESTER 1898 which was when it would have been Imported.
