Antique Victorian Sterling Silver 20" Gallery Tray 1883

Description

This is a superb antique Victorian hallmarked sterling silver oval tray measuring 20” (51 cms) x 13" (33 cms) x 2" (5 cms) high at the ends.

It’s hallmarked for London 1883 with the silversmiths mark for John Batson and also has the retailers mark for 'Hall & Co, Manchester'.

It has a central cartouche with no inscriptions or monograms and has handles incorporated into the gorgeous pierced gallery rim.

It weighs 1745 grams which gives you some idea of the quality and is in excellent condition - any marks and shadows you can see in the photos are just reflections.
