Hallmarked 1938 Dutch Solid Silver Asparagus or Kroketschep Server Made by Gerritsen and Van Kempen.

Description

Dutch hallmarked for 1938, a very unusual interesting solid silver asparagus or croquette server.

It is called a kroketschep, and has a large curved and beautifully pierced oval bowl, and a tapered handle.

With very clear hallmarks, it is .833 fine, and was made by Gerritsen and Van Kempen of Zeist, and assayed in Utrecht.

Would also be very suitable for sardines, hors d'oeuvres or pastries.

Size-6 1/8 inches long by 3 5/8 inches wide.

Weight-50 grams.

A functional, unusual, and very good quality item in very good condition.
