Rare Antique Victorian Sterling Silver 'Sword' Letter Knife - 1876 E.h.stockwell

Description

This is a rare antique Victorian sterling silver letter knife/opener in the form of an officers dress sword complete with scabbard and suspension chain.

It measures 5 1/2" (14 cms) long and both parts are clearly marked for Birmingham 1876 with the silversmiths mark for E.H.Stockwell who was famous for his unusual novelty items - it also has the retailers mark for 'Thornhill, 144, New Bond St'.

It's in excellent condition with no damage and weighs 27.5 grams.
