The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1870s.
The watch has a key-winding movement which is working nicely. A winding key is included.
There is also a serial number of 924705 which tells us that the movement was manufactured between September and December of 1876. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 52mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both case backs for Chester 1876 with a case maker’s mark AB, which were the initials of Alfred Bedford, the Manager of the London branch of Waltham. The case is in good condition although quite a lot of the engine turned detail to the back of the watch has rubbed off over the years.
The watch glass is in good order.
The white enamel dial is in good condition. The hour hand is a later replacement.
Two keys are included, one to wind the movement and the other to adjust the hands.
