C19th Silver and Enamel Cigar Case

Description

A superb quality C19th silver and enamel cigar case, of large rectangular shape and slight curved form for comfortable fit in a breast pocket; the lid with a charming enamel scene depicting a coach and passengers drawn by team of four bay horses standing outside a large Georgian house. With a spring catch opening to reveal the interior in silver gilt with elasticated strap.

Clearly hallmarked George Heath London 1897.

A good weight of 177g, this is a beautiful and rare object, being made for cigars rather than the more common smaller cigarette cases.
