Super Victorian Silver Claret Jug. London 1887

Description

Superb quality and design Victorian Sterling silver claret or wine jug of classical design. Nice shape ebony handle and turned ebony finial to the top. The piece was made by EDWARD HUTTON and is hallmarked for LONDON 1887. The condition is very good with no damage at all and no dints.

As can be seen the jug is engraved along the top of the shoulder "COMMODDORE'S CUP R.H.Y.C WON BY "FAWN" 1887. Obviously won by a yacht called Fawn in 1887 for a race organised by the Royal Yacht club.

SIZE; 11" high. 3 3/4" diameter.
