Welsh Oak Bureau Desk Cabinet, Circa 1790

Description

Welsh oak bureau cabinet, the upper secttion with a bold cornice above a mahogany-banded frieze with chequered inlaid lozenge and border, over a pair of panelled doors with sunburst corner spandrels, enclosing a shelved interior. The base section has a solid sloping fall to the desk enclosing an inlaid fitted interior, above three large drawers with original wooden knobs raised on bracket feet.

The interior retains traces of the original green paint.
