Superb Antique George II Solid Silver Tea Caddy 1755

This is a stunning example of a mid-18th Century, George II, solid sterling silver Tea Caddy.
 
Hallmarked on the base for London 1755, with the maker''s mark of Samuel Herbert & Co, the caddy is in a baluster form with embossed and fluted decoration of flowers and leaves. The finial features a flower surrounded by three leaves. The pull off lid fits tightly.
 
The silver is in excellent condition, with no dings or tears.
