Pair of George III Silver Sugar Tongs Assayed in Newcastle

Description

This is a pair of George III hallmarked sterling silver sugar tongs. They were assayed in Newcastle in 1792/3 and made by a silversmith with the mark 'TR'.

They are monogrammed 'DWM'. They are in good general condition but there looks to be the beginning of a split near the monogram which is only visible from one side. There are surface marks to the silver.

They weigh 41g.
