The Silver Cabinet has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
Rectangular in shape, the lid is slightly domed and the box stands squarely on four cabriole feet, with the original red satin lining.

The silver is in excellent condition. The lining is firmly attached and just a little worn towards the hinge at the back of the box. The hinge is tight and the lid fits well. It is not gilded - any suggestion of gilding in the pictures is just a reflection of the camera flash.
