Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The lid is hinged with a small lip to the front for ease of opening. Clear hallmarks are visible on both the side of the box and the side of the lid: London 1910 by Mappin & Webb. Along the with name 'Mappin & Webb', stamped on the underneath base of the box,.

The interior of the box is equally stunning: covered in black leather with a special compartment under the lid that houses the original rule book, entitled: 'The Laws of Bridge' also coated in the same black leather.

A rare and wonderful antique and a great weight.
Condition: This bridge box is in very good used condition, both externally and internally. The hinge is in great working order and closes with precision.
