Description

This is a large antique German silver caddy with a pull off lid measuring 6 1/4" (16 cms) tall x 4 1/2" (11 cms) across x 3 1/4" (8 cms) and in lovely original condition with no damage or repairs.

It has the silversmiths mark for Neresheimer & Shone who worked in Germany in the late 19th century and this piece dates from c1890.

It is heavily decorated with a tavern scene on each side with children, dogs and chickens in abundance plus dancing scenes and a man on horseback and the lid has leaf embossed decoration.

It weighs 405 grams and there are no inscriptions or monograms.
