Large Antique Victorian Silver Double Inkstand with Chamberstick 1844

Description

This is an impressive antique early Victorian hallmarked sterling silver inkstand with two glass & silver inkwells and a chamberstick in the centre.

It measures 12 1/2" (32 cms) across x 9" (23 cms) x 58 1/2 (12.5 cms) high to the top of chamberstick.

Both the stand and inkwells are in excellent condition with no damage and all items show matching hallmarks for London 1844 with the silversmiths mark for Samuel Hayne & Dudley Cater.

The stand has beautiful pierced and engraved decoration inscriptions or monograms.

The clear glass inkwells have hallmarked silver tops and the candle holder is removable for ease of use.

The stand without the glass inkwells weighs 863 grams and all in all this is a very impressive large instand which would look fabulous on any desk.
