Silver Tablespoon Incuse Mark London 1785. George Smith.

Description

Very fine and rare Georgian solid silver tablespoon. Simple design with no engravings apart from initials at the top of the handle: J.C. The back of the spoon is fully hallmarked: London 1785 and has the very rare incuse duty mark of George III (looking to the left), used in 1785. It also has clear maker's mark: George Smith.

 

Condition: This tablespoon is in excellent used condition. The hallmarks and incuse duty mark are clearly visible.

 

Measurements:

Height: 21.8cm approx.

Width: (At widest point:) 4.4cm approx.

Depth: 3cm approx.

Weight: 66g approx
