This is a lovely example of a late Georgian solid sterling silver Chamberstick.
Clearly hallmarked on the base for Sheffield 1825, with the maker''s mark of John & Thomas Settle, Gunn & Co. There are also full sets of hallmarks on the sconce and the snuffer, the latter of which are slightly rubbed.
The repousse decoration on the rim and sconce is crisp and pretty. The square base is mounted on a low stand. The finger ring is decorated with a leaf and is securely attached.
The snuffer is slightly misshapen, as seen in the photographs: The silver is otherwise in excellent condition, free from any dents or tears.
Overall, a very pretty object.
