The Silver Cabinet has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
There are also full sets of hallmarks on the sconce and the snuffer, the latter of which are slightly rubbed.
The repousse decoration on the rim and sconce is crisp and pretty. The square base is mounted on a low stand. The finger ring is decorated with a leaf and is securely attached.
The snuffer is slightly misshapen, as seen in the photographs: The silver is otherwise in excellent condition, free from any dents or tears.
Overall, a very pretty object.
