Pair Antique English Sterling Silver And Tortoiseshell Heart Letter Clips

An absolute delight and wonderful to find a matching pair of these elegant little paper or letter clips. The backing is made from carved and polished period Tortoiseshell in a shield shape.
 
Of course, what makes these examples so desirable and collectible are the two romantic heart shaped hinged clips to the front, each with a pretty wire top used by the thumb to open them. These are perfect for business cards or just keeping those desk top bits and pieces together.
 
They are made by one of the finest London silversmith''s, William Comyns and each has a full hallmark for London 1898.
 
Excellent condition, each measuring 2 1/4'' x 2'' x 1 1/4'' thick.
