Serpentine Antiques has dated this piece to the 1920s.
International became not only renowned for the quality of its fine silver, it also became the world's largest manufacturer of silverware.
The service comprises six place settings of sterling silver .925 fine, including 6 pieces per place setting, plus extras (detailed photos of individual place setting shown). Each six piece place setting comprises a dessert/salad fork, a dinner fork, a dinner knife, a butter/cheese knife, a soup/dessert spoon and a teaspoon. Also included are 3 extra soup spoons, and 5 extra butter knives (excellent also for cheese). The dinner knives have solid silver handles and stainless steel blades (dinner knives always have either steel, plate or stainless blades for cutting), while all other pieces are completely solid silver, including the butter knives. By law, American sterling silver must bear the sterling (at least .925 standard) and the manufacturer's marks. It is exactly the same silver content as English sterling silver, at least .925 fine.
The pieces have a tasteful scrolling family monogram to each piece on one side only.
Unusually, this service includes the original silver handled knives as well as generous bowled soup spoons, neither of which are often found with canteens of silver.
Size-dinner knife 10 1/8 inches long, dinner fork 7 7/8 inches, dessert fork 6 1/8 inches, soup spoon 7 inches by 1 7/8 inches wide, teaspoon 6 inches, butter knife 5 5/8 inches.
Weight-1385 grams of solid silver without including any weight for the large sterling silver handled dinner knives at all. (conservatively adding 215 grams for the dinner knife handles, makes the total weight approximately 1600 grams)

Weight for shipping-1.85 kilos before packing.
Additional pieces may potentially still be sourced if desired.
This canteen of silver is beautifully crafted and has had gentle use in its lifetime. It iis all ready to grace your table.
This is a lovely and elegant sterling silver pattern which represents excellent value and function, and will blend with any other tableware. It is also a very prudent investment in the present economy, due to the continuous rise in silver prices, up 150% in the past 12 months.
What an excellent way to step on to the silver investment ladder, at a price just over the scrap value of the silver, while using and enjoying this lovely service at the same time.
A wonderful value for a solid silver dinner service! A fabulous buy, it has to be the best value solid silver dinner service available anywhere!
In very good condition.
