Serpentine Antiques has dated this piece to the 1930s.
This is a beautifully crafted solid silver service comprising 6 pairs or 12 pieces of heavy solid silver knives and forks with mainly creamy coloured ivory handles having a nice patina, and some darker variations in colour. Knife blades and fork shanks are fully hallmarked. There is no damage to either the ivory or silver.
Size-fork 6.75 inches long, knife 7.5 inches long.
Size of case-11 3/8 inches by 8 3/8 inches by 2 inches high.
Total weight of cutlery-540 grams.
Total weight including case-1.05 kilos.
This dessert canteen is very useful for desserts, fruit and cheese.
A wonderful service in very good condition, with very clear silver hallmarks. Usually found in silver plate, this is a lovely solid silver example.
