Description

Sheffield 1912 superb English hallmarked solid silver and mother of pearl dessert canteen service made by Watson and Gillot, found in the stunning original oak fitted case with gorgeous blue lining, and brass cartouche to lid. It has also retained the original key.

This lovely set is comprised of 12 pieces or 6 pairs of solid silver knives and forks with lustrous mother of pearl handles, for 6 place settings.

This canteen is very useful for dessert, fruit and cheese.

Weight-1.5 kilos before packing.

It is unusual to find such sets in solid silver, as they are much more commonly found in silver plate. The style, though antique, is contemporary enough to complement any other cutlery pattern and decor.

A really lovely beautifully crafted service, in very good condition, in the original solid wood case with key. It will be a prudent investment with the soaring prices of silver in this economy. This will make either a lovely gift or a beautiful and functional set to use and appreciate.
