Serpentine Antiques has dated this piece to the 1800s.

The shapely handles are reeded, as is the top band. There are also two curved bands around the upper section, and it stands on a pedestal foot.
The Newcastle assay office closed in 1884, and therefore this provincial silver is very collectable.

It is made in a beautiful classic design and is very well crafted. Most useful for sugar, sauces or whatever one wishes.
Weight-225 grams.
Size-8 inches long by 4.75 inches high, by 3.5 inches wide.
In very good condition, with some minor marks to one side, and 208 years old!
This is a lovely and uncommon piece of silver.
