Antique Sterling Silver & Tortoiseshell ‘Clover’ Photo Frame 1896

Description

This is a beautiful antique sterling silver and tortoiseshell photo frame in the shape of a clover leaf hallmarked for Birmingham 1896 with the makers mark for Horton & Allday.

The silver surround is in super condition and any marks you can see in the photos are just reflections.

It measures 3 3/4? (9.l5 cms) x 4 1/4? (11 cms) across the widest point with the actual opening measuring 2 1/4? (5.5 cms) x 1 3/4? (4.5 cms).

The tortoiseshell inlay is lovely with super colour and it’s inlaid with silver pique flowers and leaves around the top.

It has a wooden easel style backstand which works perfectly and is a fabulous unusual frame ready to use .
