Georgian Solid Silver Teapot - York 1812

18th century
Description

A wonderful solid sterling silver teapot assayed in York in 1812, during the reign of George III.

The York Assay office was closed for business in 1857, making it one of the more desirable hallmarks for the collector.

This bright cut teapot was made by Robert Cattle & James Barber. There are a couple of small dings and there is slight movement in the handle, though nothing more than would be expected of a teapot over 200 years old. Any shading on the photographs is merely a reflection.

Dimensions:

Weight: 582g

Length (Spout to handle): 24.5cm

Height (to top of finial): 12.5cm.

A lovely piece of history.

Post and packaging are free within the UK via Royal Mail special delivery. Overseas buyers please e-mail for postage costs. Thank you.

Please note: payment by credit or debit card can be made by pressing the ‘pay now’ button on the item page - A PayPal account is not needed.
