C19th French carved gilt-wood stool. Good quality carved frame gilt-wood oblong salon or dressing stool in Louis XVI taste , raised on cabriole leg supports with carved scroll toes . Serpentine rails with carved flower-head decoration and also to corners ,with original carved horn wheel castors with brass forks.

In excellent condition , quality C19th gilding with subtle areas of pink /red gesso ground 'bleeding' through.

Recent peach-coloured damask-style covering with good strong, sound professionally and traditionally upholstered webbed base.

Would work equally well in a reception room or bed-room.
