This is an antique sterling silver whiskey noggin, designed by the much sought-after Christopher Dresser.
Clearly hallmarked on the side of the silver top with the maker''s mark of John Thomas Heath & John Hartshorne Middleton (later Hukin & Heath Ltd) and the assay office mark for London 1904. Christopher Dresser worked with Hukin & Heath for a period of time.
The label is also clearly hallmarked on the reverse for London 1904, with the maker''s mark of J & J Maxfield Ltd.
The noggin features the classic star burst design to the glass bottom. Both the silver and glass are in excellent condition. The silver is not gilded - any suggestion of gilding in the pictures is just a reflection of the camera flash.
