Antique English Sterling Silver Repoussé Scent Bottle

Description

A beautiful antique English sterling silver repoussé scent bottle.

The bottle stands at 6cm high. It is hallmarked both on the base and to the side for Birmingham 1893 with a maker’s mark for Hayes Brothers. There is a vacant cartouche to the front of the bottle (there is a 2mm indentation to the cartouche).

The lid hinges open nicely to reveal a glass liner and stopper - there are some nibbles to the bottom of the stopper and a crack to the neck of the liner.

Overall a good quality piece of silver with repoussé work rather than the more often seen engraved case.
