Birmingham 1899 Solid Silver Shell Bowl Caddy Spoon by William Devenport.

Description

Birmingham 1899 Victorian English hallmarked solid silver heavy and unusual shell bowl caddy spoon made by William Devenport, with beautifully moulded shell bowl and pointed stem.

Size- 3 3/8 inches long by 1.5 inches wide.

Weight-15 grams.

These spoons were used to carefully mix the tea leaves in the mixing bowls of a tea caddy, and then to transfer the leaves to the pot for brewing. Now, can be used for anything, for example sugar or sauces.

With lovely style, a very attractive and collectable item for the collectors of novelty silver or spoons.

In very good condition.
