London 1906 Solid Silver Set of Unusual Seal Topped Spoons in the Original Case.

Description

London 1906 English hallmarked solid silver pair of long seal topped spoons in the original fitted case. Made in Amsterdam in 1906 for export, in solid silver .934 standard fine, which is higher than British sterling silver content. Imported in the same year to the UK and hallmarked by John Thompson and Sons.

The seal tops are actual seals, surmounted with crowns, very unusually.

The stems are twisted and cast, while the bowls appear nearly unused, and bear full hallmarks for both countries.

Size-7.5 inches long by 1.25 inches wide.

Weight-100 grams.

A fine quality and very unusual pair that can be used for sauces, cranberries, cream, and knickerbocker glories or parfaits.
