London 1915 Pair of Solid Silver Unusual Curved Serving Fork and Tomato Server Made by Jackson and Fullerton in the Original Fitted Case.

Description

London 1915 English hallmarked solid silver pair of serving pieces comprising a curved serving fork and an unusual serving spoon called a tomato server or lifter, made by George Maudsley Jackson and David Landsborough Fullerton. They are presented in the original fitted case having a stunning aubergine silk and velvet interior.

These types of servers are often used for serving tomatoes, salads, crudites and canapes, but can be used for anything.

These were retailed by the goldsmiths Henry Pidduck and Sons of Lord Street Southport. The case interior bears his label.

The stems are decorated with harebells and surmounted with a ribbon tied bow.

Size-fork is 8.25 inches long by 1.5 inches wide; server is 8 3/8 inches long by 2 7/8 inches wide.

Weight-160 grams.

A lovely, sizeable and unusual pair of servers in very good condition.
