The Silver Cabinet has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
On all four sides there is a plaque, or medallion, featuring what looks to be a Roman head in relief, underneath which is an urn trailing with foliage. Above each side medallion is a bow, whilst the handles are attached above the medallions on the ends.
The basket sides are topped off with chased wreaths. The two handles are secure and feature more foliage, this time with an encircled flower.
All the above stands on four small feet.
The hallmarks are on the base as is a 4.5cm scratch.
