This is a striking solid sterling silver buckle assayed in London in 1900. The maker''s mark is W.C, which is possibly for William Cooper.
 
The silver is plain and is shaped in a flowing design, giving an overall classical effect.
 
The back of the buckle is also plain. The two sides fit snugly together.
