A Magnificent Victorian Silver & Cranberry Basket.

A magnificent pierced silver basket from the Victorian period. this superior example stands on four ball and claw feet and has extensively pierced sides. There is further decoration with draped swags and mask panels. The twin handles are of foliar and shell design and there is a stunning cranberry glass liner. Baskets with glass liners often have open bases, with a rim to support the liner. This wonderful piece has a solid base and is of very good gauge silver, as one would expect when made and retailed by the famous Carrington & Co. of Regent Street, London.
