Edinburgh 1842 Solid Silver Scottish Kings Pattern Unusually Large Condiment Spoon Made by James and William Marshall.

Description

Edinburgh Scottish hallmarked provincial solid silver very unusual large condiment preserve or jam spoon in the Kings pattern, made by James and William Marshall.

It bears an interesting and very attractive family crest of an upraised arm encased with armor, holding a dagger aloft.

With large tear dropped bowl, and graceful handle, this spoon would be excellent for sauces, honey or preserves.

It is larger than a teaspoon, by way of size reference.

Size-5.75 inches long by 1.25 inches wide.

Weight-30 grams.

It is beautifully made in a thick gauge of silver, and well balanced.

A really lovely, very unusual and most useful piece of collectable provincial Scottish silver.
