Edinburgh 1843 Scottish hallmarked solid silver pair of toddy ladles in the Kings pattern.

Very substantial pair of ladles, originally made to ladle out and serve a hot alcoholic drink (toddy), made in Scotland since the 18th century, and often used in the cold of winter and for curing colds and flu.

Now these ladles, in addition to their original purpose, are also used for sauces, cream, etc.

Very well made, the gauge of silver is very thick, and the ladles are very well balanced in the hand.

Maker is Liddle and Sons, and the hallmarks are deep and very clear.

Weight-75 grams.

Size-6 inches long by 1.75 inches diameter bowl.

The lovely Kings pattern stem will coordinate with any other silver pattern.

A lovely pair of ladles in very good condition, made in much sought after Scottish silver.
