Large Georgian Solid Silver Basket 1801

Description

This is a gorgeous solid sterling silver swing-handled cake or bread basket, dating from the reign of George III.

Clearly hallmarked under the rim for London 1801, it is in excellent condition given its age. It is plain with reeded edging and reeded decoration to the handle, which is firmly attached, and stands squarely on an oval pedestal base.
