Birmingham 1904 Stunning Solid Silver Comport.

Description

Birmingham 1904 stunning English hallmarked solid silver pierced comport or pedestal dish made by Charles S. Green & Co.

The comport has pierced foliate scalloped edges, and alternating solid and pierced lobes to top, forming a flower head pattern, raised to centre of dish, making it very three dimensional, and catching the light beautifully. The dish stands on a solid flared and fluted base, also edged in scalloped pattern.

Size-approx. 10.5 inches diameter by 4.0 inches high.

Weight-395 grams, or nearly 13 troy ounces.

This unusually beautiful piece is a lovely dish for desserts, fruit, or bread, and will be the focal point of any table or sideboard. Also makes a great gift.

In very good condition with clear hallmarks.
