George III Solid Silver Nutmeg Grater 1808

Description

Excellent Georgian solid sterling silver nutmeg grater.

Hallmarked inside both the base and lid for Birmingham 1808, with the maker's mark possibly that of Joseph Willmore.

It is in a plain, curved form with rounded base and top. The two hinges are tightly fitting. It is not gilded inside, despite the appearance of the pictures - this is just the reflection of the flash.
