London 1922 Georg Jensen, Very Famous Maker Solid Silver Continental Pattern Spoon.

1900 - 1920
Description

London 1922 antique Georg Jensen, famous maker solid silver Continental pattern spoon, with full sets of both Danish and English hallmarks for sterling or solid silver. Danish Three Tower marks for 1922, Georg Jensen mark, 925S mark, assay marks for Christian F. Heise, and full London import marks for 1922, are on reverse, as well as George Stockwell's mark, as the London import agent.

Jensen was one of the most talented original and influential designers of the 20th century, and today his silver is most highly sought after. Although his workshop continued to produce pieces after his death, his older originally produced pieces, from the time when he was still alive, are most valued, such as this one.

This is a very popular silver spoon by a famous and collectable maker, this example being more valuable as it was produced under his tutelage while Georg Jensen was still alive.

Continental pattern was inspired by old Nordic wooden cutlery, and is produced with a lightly hammered finish. It is the first major cutlery pattern to come out of Jensen's workshop in 1906.

The tear dropped shaped bowl makes this spoon useful as a childs spoon, or for serving soups or sauces.

Size-5.5 inches long by 1 3/8 inches wide.

Weight-30 grams.

In very good condition.

We have many other individual and sets of spoons in inventory, so please contact us with your requirements.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
