19thc Victorian Solid Silver Large and Heavy Kings Pattern Basting Spoon.

19th century
Description

Wonderful London assayed Victorian English hallmarked solid silver double struck Kings pattern large basting or gravy spoon probably made by William Eaton.

Very heavy at 205 grams, and with thick gauge, this is an excellent quality spoon with beautiful shell design to stem and to reverse of bowl, and with unusual animal family crest.

Size- 12.25 inches long by 2 1/8 inches wide.

The hallmarks have been rubbed from polishing, so date and maker are approximated. This spoon was made pre 1876, and is likely circa 1841 (year estimate taken from matching dessert spoons).

A very heavy and elegant basting spoon in very good condition, sure to impress.

Very useful for basting, gravy, stuffing and serving.

Also see matching pair of dessert spoons from the same source.

We have many other individual and sets of spoons in inventory, so please contact us with your requirements.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
