Description

This is a lovely hexagonal shaped antique German silver engraved box with hinged lid and in excellent original condition.

It weighs 130 grams and has a gilded interior.

The bottom is marked 800 for the grade of silver plus it has the serpent mark for Hanau Germany and it is probably by either Gebruder Dingeldein or by J Kurz and Co who both used the snake symbol on their items.

It is a good size measuring 3 1/4” (8 cms) across and almost 1” (2 cms) high and would be ideal as a snuff box or a general box for the dressing table or desk.
