The Silver Cabinet has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
This solid sterling silver fork and spoon carry the hallmarks for London 1793.
The cutlery carries a family crest on the front of the spoon finial and reverse of the fork finial.

The hallmarks are rubbed on the fork, through over-zealous cleaning, but the maker's mark of Paul Storr is still discernible. The items are not gilded - any suggestion of gilding in the photographs is simply a reflection of the camera flash.
