Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the 1900s.
This is a very pretty, solid silver, Edwardian vesta case. It is Hallmarked Birmingham 1907, (which can be seen on the inside of the lid) The engraving on the case is exceptionally pretty , with flower-head pattern front and back and a heart-shaped cartouche on the front of the case. There is a loop to attach on the side of the case. The top of the case closes very firmly. The item is nicely polished. The shape of the case is intentionally slightly concave at the back.

Would make a lovely gift for either gent or lady.
