Victorian Solid Silver Novelty Bookmark Adie and Lovekin Birmingham 1892

This is a very novel, solid silver bookmark. Assayed in Birmingham and clearly marked with the maker’s name ‘Adie and Lovekin Ltd’, it is dated 1892. It is unusual and in the form of a trowel, which could make an excellent gift for anyone who perhaps enjoys a spot of DIY! Or, indeed, any book lover! This particular piece, as well as a wonderful small novelty ornament, is also very useable for the purpose it has been made for. The bookmark is in excellent condition with a small patterned handle and a smooth trowel, which clearly bears the hallmark and maker’s name.

 

Measurements are approximately 84mm x12mm

This bookmark is in excellent condition and functions extremely well.
