Pair of Antique Solid Silver Salts - Barnard - And Spoons

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a fine pair of antique solid sterling silver salts by the famous silversmith family firm of Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd and assayed in London 1909.

They are shaped as four leafed clovers, with four handles and pedestal bases. There are no decorations to these salts, giving them a classical look.

The hallmarks are to the side of one of the handles - quite crisp on one of the salts and more rubbed on the other, but still discernible. The glass liners are in excellent condition.

The spoons are older. They are hallmarked London 1811, with a slightly rubbed maker's mark, which could be for William Bateman 1. The gilding is in excellent condition and they are free of any engravings.
