This is an excellent set of four solid sterling silver place name or menu holders. Each individual holder is heavy (27g) and tactile.
Created by the illustrious Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company Ltd and clearly hallmarked for Chester 1907.
They are plain, in the form of two circles standing on a circular base. Alongside the hallmarks is the registration number: RD402227. The silver is in excellent condition.
This is the original box, showing the silversmith''s name and address. As can be seen from the photographs, the box is showing its age, with tearing to the silk where it covers one of the hinges, and damage to the outside of the lid. The box itself is sturdy and the hinge is solid.
