London 1937 Very Unusual Nearly Mint Condition Solid Silver Trefid End Cold Meat Serving Fork and Serving Spoon by Thomas Bradbury and Sons, and Retailed by Gilmer of Bath, in Original Fitted Case.

1920 - 1940
Description

London 1937 English hallmarked solid silver very unusual set of trefid ended cold meat fork and serving spoon, made by very good makers Thomas Bradbury and Sons, and retailed by Gilmer of Bath.

Extremely thick and heavy gauge of silver, with large clear hallmarks, and retailer stamp to stem sides as well.

It is unusual to have both a serving fork and spoon in a set.

In nearly mint condition, contained in striking blue gilt embellished original fitted case, lined with silk and black velvet. All pieces appearing to have had little if any use in 73 years of life!

Weight-180 grams.

Size-fork 8.25 inches long; spoon 8.5 inches long by 2 inches wide.

A lovely, practical and unusual gift, which would make a fine presentation, or a very nice and most functional present for yourself.

Declaration

Serpentine Antiques has dated this piece to the 1930s.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
